Have you been caught with a low battery? I don’t want to see this on my screen! Do you?
When this happens, what are my options?
- I can turn on Airplane mode and forfeit most of my iPhone’s services.
- I can turn on low power mode and have a few of the very important features such as making a telephone call.
- I can carry a charger and USB cable and search for electricity.
- I can carry a small battery backup charger.
- At the first chance, I can purchase a case with an additional battery backup pod attached.
6. I could suffer in desperation. We have all been there. Right?
New iPhones and iPads come with Lithium Ion batteries. These batteries do not hold a memory and cannot be overcharged. Even if you left these devices connected to the chargers, you could not overcharge them. Devices that have these types of batteries must incorporate a charging circuit that switches over to external power when the battery tops out at 100%.
Conclusion from Apple techs!
“How often should I charge my iPhone and iPad? ”
As often as you like.
” Do I need to let the battery rundown completely?”
You need to let it run down, then charge to full once a month, according to Apple. Other than that it is up to you.
The more often you run it down to auto-shut off the faster you will degrade your battery. Lithium batteries do best with more frequent, partial discharge/charge cycles. Full cycles in one go will accelerate the degredation of the battery.
So you are far better off simply charging whenever it is convenient to do so, even if the battery is more than half charged.
You can also leave it plugged in and fully charged until you actually need to use it on battery, so using a docking station at home or work is fine even if it sits overnight or all day on the charger.
Charge it whenever you want for how long you want.
Friends,
Do not get caught with a dead battery! Someone may need you or you may need someone. Because this is the best device of its kind on the planet, you will want it with you at all times and ready to do its work for you!
Thanks for reading this post,
Tom
P.S. Leave it on the charger overnight for as long as you want and when you want.
